Need a Site?

So you need a web site?

Of course you do, everyone with a business needs one. Whether you're the owner of a small business, big business, sideline business or even just have a hobby that you've decided to try to grow. Regardless, you need a web site.

We can help.

How does it work and how much does it cost? The two most popular questions. The first one is simple, the second one depends on what you want.

Here's how it works:

There are basically two parts to a web site - the domain name "" - which you buy and pay for on a yearly basis. The next part is "hosting" - which is where the files that make up your site "live." So your domain name points to the files and voila! you've got a web site.

Well, it's not that easy, is it? Just ask your cousin's next-door-neighbor's step-son's friend that built your last one.

That's where I come in. I make your life easier at this point.

I build sites using Content Management Systems (CMS) that use templates that create a beautiful "look and feel" to your site. The "front end" that people see is a beautiful template, and the "backend" that you will learn to use, is a database-driven management system.

I will help you get a domain name and establish a hosting account (read: I will do it for you), and then I will walk you through the steps of choosing a template that will represent what you and your business are about. Then I do a bunch of stuff that you really don't want to know about, but is worth what you'll pay to have done, and we'll then have your database and the basic site structure set up.

At this point, I will train you and your staff (if you're lucky enough to have staff) on how to maintain the day-to-day upkeep of your site.

That's all there is to that part.

So now you want to know what it will cost. That depends on what you want. A basic, no-frills site, with minimal training starts at around $4,000. Shopping carts, video and bells and whistles are extra. Of course, everything is negotiable, so give me a call and let's talk about what you need, what you want and what you can afford.

Everybody has had a bad experience with a do-it-yourself site builder or with a neighbor's cousin's step-son and I promise you won't get that from me. As you can tell, I'm a no-BS kind of gal. I'll tell you like it is, like it or not, and I expect the same from you.

If you want a good, functional, nice-looking site that you can maintain yourself, give me a call or email me.
